Highland High School track and field athletes made a massive statement at the Conference 1A State Track Meet, bringing home a state title and shattering two school records on the biggest stage in Texas.

Field Event Highlights:

• 🥇 State Champion High Jump: Davis Etheredge captured the State Championship title and set a new school record by clearing 5'5".

• 🏅 4th Place Discus: Kaylene Ledbetter took 4th in the State, setting a new school record with a remarkable throw of 120'6".

Relay Recognition: The excitement carried into the evening track events as Highland’s Girls 4x400m Relay team—Davis Etheredge, Hallee Montgomery, Tatum Heady, and Kaylee Rogers—took the track to compete against the best runners in Texas. While they did not place in the final standings, earning a spot to compete at the State level caps off an incredible season of dedication and achievement.
