Student, Parent and Community Grievances

Highland ISD encourages students, parents, and community members to address concerns as soon as possible with the appropriate teacher, principal, or administrator to allow for a swift, informal resolution at the lowest possible administrative level. Most concerns are resolved at this level.

If your concern is not fully resolved after discussion with the administrator, the formal grievance process is available as detailed in Policy FNG (LOCAL).

Please use the appropriate required form for Stage 1 of the required complaint process.

Employee Complaint and Grievances

Highland ISD encourages employees to first discuss issues with their supervisor or administrator for an informal resolution at the lowest level. If dissatisfaction remains, a formal grievance process is available progressing through Level 1 and subsequent levels if necessary. This process ensures employees can be heard up to the highest level of management and ultimately by the Board of Trustees. For ease of reference, the district's policy concerning the process of bringing concerns and complaints is detailed in Policy DGBA (LOCAL).
