Highland’s Elementary and Junior High students recently wrapped up a successful season of UIL academic competition. From a championship performance on the stage to a full day of academic contests in Westbrook, our students represented Highland with pride and dedication.
JH One-Act Play: District Champions
The Junior High One-Act Play kicked off the UIL season with a dominant performance of their production, "The Bugs." The cast and crew’s hard work resulted in the team being crowned District Champions!
Several students also earned individual accolades for their standout performances:
Best Performer: Lauren Tomlin
All-Star Cast: Kaison McCorkle
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Alex Etheredge & Jetten Fullwood
Best Stage Manager: Ava Padilla
Elementary and Junior High Academic Meet
Following the success of the play, our Elementary and Junior High Academic teams traveled to Westbrook on December 15th for the district academic meet. Students competed in a wide range of events. Whether they were competing in math, spelling, or speaking events, we are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication shown by all of our competitors.
