Highland students demonstrated their dedication and expertise at the recent Nolan County Livestock Show, held from January 8-11 at the Nolan County Coliseum in Sweetwater. Their hard work and commitment paid off, with several students earning the coveted title of Grand Champion. In addition to these top honors, numerous other Highland students earned Breed and Reserve Breed Champion titles, along with numerous high placings in their respective classes. Highland had 36 students make the sale.

The Nolan County Livestock Show provided a platform for Highland students to display their skills in animal husbandry, showmanship, and agricultural mechanics. 

Here are the Grand Champion winners from Highland at the Nolan County Livestock Show:

  • Grand Champion Lambs: Grady Miles

  • Grand Champion Rabbits: Jaxton Fullwood

  • Grand Champion Market Steers: Lawson Fullwood

  • Grand Champion Agricultural Mechanics: Braxton Barkley

Additionally, Highland had five senior students who were awarded college scholarships from the Nolan County Livestock Association. These students were Jaycee Baker, Ashleigh Boyd, Kinley Hoelscher, Avery Montgomery, and Emma Polnack.

These achievements, along with the numerous other awards, highlight the dedication and passion for agriculture within the Highland community. Congratulations to all the Highland participants and winners!
