SchoolMessenger Notification System |
 | |
For 2012-13, Highland ISD is once again using the SchoolMessenger telephone broadcast system that enables school personnel to notify all households and parents by phone within minutes of an emergency or unplanned event that causes early dismissal, school cancellation or late start. SchoolMessenger may also be used from time-to-time to communicate general announcements or reminders. HISD will continue to report school closings due to inclement weather on local television stations and will use the SchoolMessenger system as an overlay to the public announcements.
SchoolMessenger simultaneously calls all listed phone numbers in our parent contact list and delivers a recorded message from the superintendent or another school administrator. The service delivers the message to both live answer and answering machines. No answers and busy signals will be automatically retried twice in 15 minute intervals after the initial call.
