Using funds from wind-energy related Economic Development Act agreements, HISD is starting a multi-year student technology initiative this fall. Each student in 4th grade will receive a Palm handheld computer and each 7th grade student will receive a laptop computer. The goal for the initiative is “Every student using technology tools when they need them.” Through this initiative, HISD plans to make technology an integral part of the learning process.
