Welcome to the Resource Department! My name is Phyllis Wilburn and I have been part of the Special Education program at HISD since 1999. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to work with our students.

This year we are excited to announce the addition and return of Abigail Bowen to our team. Mrs. Bowen will be the Elementary Special Education specialist. Together with Mari Cornett we work to discover the best strategies and the keys to unlocking the barriers that sometimes exist with the various learning styles and challenges our students represent. We strive to remain current with new research in order to achieve the best for each student.

I am excited to be back in the classroom and I'm expecting a great 2023-2024 school year!
